Engaging with God’s Word

Paul reminds us that ‘all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work’ — 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV). Yet sometimes it can be difficult to engage with those life-giving words on the page.

How do you interact with the Bible? If you find it difficult to stop and reflect on the written words, you are not alone. The most recent National Church Life Survey (NCLS) found that around 19% of church goers read the Bible daily or most days. The research also showed that 37% hardly ever or rarely read Scripture. How can we get people excited about God’s Word again? Oral Bible storytelling might help.
