Immersed in the Gospels
Wycliffe Australia has also been hosting Gospel Dramas that are evangelical performances covering the entire content of the Gospel of either Matthew, Luke or John. The 90-minute immersive experiences are done as ‘theatre-in-the-round’, with the stage located in the centre of the audience.
Malcolm Barker has directed The John Drama and says he sees it as an ‘exercise in discipleship’:
First of all, as the actors study John’s Gospel and prepare to act it out, they are filling their minds with God’s Word. The play involves 15 actors (eight men, seven women).
