After working in the Cheke Holo translation program and management in the Solomon Islands, they joined the SIL Pacific Area staff in 1988. Marijke served as administrative assistant for many years before returning to her medical roots as phlebotomist at the Royal Brisbane Hospital untill her retirement in 2019. David served for 16 years as Director of the SIL Pacific Group as well as two terms on the SIL International and JAARS boards. His main role till May 2023 was the Pacific Area Finance Coordinator. Keeping the finance work running smoothly means that translators know what funds are available and can plan accordingly. He will continue to assist in Pacific Area finances as requested until his retirement in January 2024.
