Ian worked as a librarian and archivist with Wycliffe Australia in Cameroon, Africa in the 1990s. He returned to Australia in 1999 to help care for his parents and resigned from Wycliffe to take up work at a Brisbane university, specialising in information management. Once both of his parents had passed away, he realised he wanted to use his skills to contribute to Wycliffe’s work once more.
Ian is now working as the Associate Director of Language and Culture Archives. The archives team manages the online storage of the organisation’s language materials across the world. This provides a means for language projects to keep their work safely long-term and share it with others.
