In 1998, Jane and her husband, Mark, joined Wycliffe Bible Translators, following a shared calling to help make God’s Word available to all people in their heart language. They were sent to Papua New Guinea, where Mark served at the Ukarumpa International School as teacher and Principal, providing education and support for children of missionaries. This vital role allowed parents to focus on Bible translation work in the villages, confident that their children were well cared for and thriving.

After returning to Australia at the end of 2003, Jane and Mark spent two years serving in the Brisbane Wycliffe office, representing the organisation and sharing about the ongoing need for Bible translation around the world. In 2006, they stepped back from their formal roles to care for their extended family members.

Fast forward to today—Jane and Mark have rejoined Wycliffe Australia, once again using their gifts to support others in the ministry of Bible translation. They now serve in Member Care for NSW/ACT (and some Victorian members), as well as in representative roles.

Member Care is a strategic and deeply relational ministry. It involves walking alongside translators and support workers, offering encouragement, practical help, and spiritual care—so they can continue in their vital roles for the long term. It truly takes a team to get a translator on the field, and every member of that team plays a crucial part in helping people from every language group encounter Jesus Christ through the power of God’s Word.

Alongside this work, Jane is studying biblical counselling, equipping her to care even more effectively for those she supports. Mark partners with her in Member Care and also serves as a Wycliffe Representative, advocating for those without the Scriptures and helping to inspire and recruit new workers for the Bible translation movement.
