The Parker family first went to Ukarumpa, PNG in 2005. Steve has worked as an aircraft mechanic (fixed wing and helicopter) and has also worked in the CAM (Construction and Maintenance Department). Paula has taught part time at the Primary School, most recently in the Learning Assistance Department.
In March 2020 they returned to Australia due to COVID-19. For a variety of reasons they have found themselves in Cairns and are currently helping out at Tree Tops Lodge, Cairns as fill-in managers.
In 2021 their daughter Anna (aged 21) will be starting her 4th year of Occupational Therapy studies and Tim (aged 19) will be starting his first year of a Bachelor of Science. Both Anna and Tim will be studying in Sydney. Dan (aged 17) is continuing with online schooling in Cairns. Paula and Steve, along with Dan, hope to return to PNG in the second half of 2021.
Steve and Paula feel privileged to be able to support Bible translation and are thankful that the Lord has given them a role at Tree Tops while they wait to return to PNG. They greatly appreciate the prayers and practical support of those at home.
