Tanya, an experienced primary school teacher and trained literacy worker, joined Wycliffe Australia in December 2013 as a short-term worker. She worked in Ukarumpa, PNG for two years (2015-2017) and then was invited to join the team at SIL Australia in 2018. Her role at SILA has been in administration, supporting staff as well as students training in language development work (e.g. Bible translation and literacy work).
In September 2022, Tanya became a career member of Wycliffe Australia with an invitation to join SILA in a new literacy role based in Melbourne. SILA is currently building a team for language ministry in Australia as diaspora communities seek support with orality, literacy, translation, and language ministry training.
Tanya is currently rebuilding her partnership team while continuing to volunteer in administration at SILA and Wycliffe Australia's bookroom. She hopes to begin her new role at SILA as soon as possible.
