MEMBER MINISTRY

Having spent a significant portion of her childhood and adult life living amongst Aboriginals in community in central Arnhem Land, Rachel Borneman is in a unique position to minister to Aboriginal people and to provide all kinds of support – social, emotional and practical. Her main focus is to support Aboriginal adults to work with their young people, using the Kriol Bible. Rachel’s vital ministry involves a great deal of driving between Darwin, Katherine and Aboriginal communities, especially along the Central Arnhem Highway, which includes roads that are only suitable for 4WDs. A reliable and properly equipped 4WD vehicle is critical for her to be able to do all of her work, and it is essential for her safety.
Recently, Rachel’s 4WD ‘died’, leaving her in a very difficult situation. God has blessed her with a number of solutions that, when combined, have made it possible to purchase a more reliable vehicle – a 2007 Toyota Landcruiser Prado. One of the sources of funding was, however, a loan for $12,000. As Rachel lives on a very modest amount of support as her income, we are seeking some assistance for her in repaying this loan. This could be a one-off contribution, or a more regular contribution.
