The Scripture Use project is in six languages in Malaita Province in the Solomon Islands: Solomon Isands Pijin and five local languages. The setting is an oral culture with a low level of literacy.
Jesus Film Outreach
In partnership with Jesus Film Ministries (JFM) the Jesus Film has been translated and recorded in four languages. JFM has supplied projectors and equipment. The first goal is to work with church leaders to do outreach with the Jesus Films, from village to village in these four languages.
Audio Bible Listening Groups
In partnership with Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) there has been recordings made of audio New Testaments in four languages. FCBH is supplying Proclaimers for distribution. The second goal is to train church leaders to use the Proclaimers to lead discipleship in listening groups.
Family Bible Storybooks
Family Bible Storybooks (375 copies) have been translated and printed in six languages. The third goal is to train church ministry leaders to use the Family Bible Storybooks and to complete distribution.
“How To Use Your Language Bible” Training
A booklet titled “How To Use Your Language Bible” has been produced. The fourth goal is to train Bible college students to use their language Bibles for personal reading and pastoral ministry.

Jesus Film: Scripture Use (SU) workers have been trained and they are having an effective ministry showing the Jesus Film from village to village in four languages. They are also using other Bible films where a translation is available. In response to a translation request from Jesus Film Ministries, discipleship study segment titles (60 of each) were translated in three languages.
Listening Groups: SU workers have distributed 250 NT Proclaimers and Bible study question cards in four languages. They are training listening group leaders in village churches and have done follow-up visits.
Family Bible Storybooks: SU workers have distributed 300 Family Bible Storybooks in six languages. SU workers have been trained to train ministry leaders and Sunday School teachers in how to use the Family Bible Storybooks for lessons.
Printing: Pijin Bible Reading Class books were printed to teach Pijin literacy to students at the AOG National Bible College. A Kwara’ae Language Songbook was compiled and printed. Listening group Bible study question cards were printed and laminated in five languages.
