Since 2004 Adam and Hester have been living in rural Vanuatu, working alongside the Merei speaking people to translate the Scriptures. To date the translation team have completed 70% of the New Testament.
Studying and translating the Scriptures with his national colleagues gives Adam daily opportunities for discipleship and training. As well as seeing God's Word speak to the Merei people he is delighted to see the translators grow in their understanding of God and their love for Him, especially as they exercise their roles as church leaders within the community.
Hester supports the translation on the home front, keeping the house running smoothly as well as overseeing the education of their youngest son Joseph. Their other 3 children Hayden, Matthew and Alexa all live in Brisbane and are either studying at university or completing Year 12 studies. As time permits Hester has had opportunity over the years to support the village Sunday school, disciple young women from the community, lead ladies Bible studies and facilitate the audio recording of translated Scriptures.
