With a background in Special Education, Ian spent five years in Papua New Guinea promoting local language literacy and the production of audio Bibles. He believes that the Church’s number one priority is to reach the world for Christ, especially through Bible translation. He says, “There are about 7,000 languages in the world, but about 1,600 (nearly 24%) of these do not yet have any Scripture (around 160,000,000 people)! How can they believe without God’s Word in their mother tongue, their heart language?
We can ALL share God’s love for his world by supporting this work of Bible translation through praying, giving or going as a worker.”
Ian’s particular role is to represent Wycliffe Bible Translators in South Australia where he was born and bred. He feels privileged to promote Bible translation and is thankful for the prayers and practical support of those who stand with him in this task.
