Good News in Anyone’s Language. This is Wycliffe Australia’s motto and Lola and Lindsay’s passion. We want the good news to be available to everyone!
Lola trained local literacy teachers in PNG from 2009 to 2012. Now she will do something similar, but with Wycliffe. Although the Bible is often distributed in audio format these days, people still need to be able to read so that they can study the Bible well. Literacy also lifts people out of poverty.
Lola also now helps facilitate cross-cultural meetings. In the last 12 months she helped facilitate the SIL Pacific leaders meeting in Brisbane, the Asia-Pacific SIL leaders meeting in Bali and the Global SIL leaders meeting in Bangkok.
Lindsay has been an economics researcher for 20 years, with a focus on finding solutions and developing better ways of doing things. He will now be applying these skills to help Wycliffe. His current projects include a case study of a PNG community to better understand the economic impact of missions. He is also working with Lola to explore how to link Pacific Islanders living in Australia with translation projects back in their home communities.
