In 2005 Narelle went on a short-term mission trip to the Philippines, where she visited a village that had recently had the New Testament published. Through this trip she saw the great need for Bible translation and felt called to become a part of this work. Since then Narelle has studied theology at the Bible College of Victoria (now Melbourne School of Theology) and linguistics at SILA.
In 2013 Narelle went to Papua New Guinea to become involved in the ministry of Bible translation. She has a passion for enabling people to read the Bible in their own language so they can come to faith and grow in their understanding of God’s Word. She is excited to be part of making this possible for the Kanja language group in the Morehead area in Western Province. Currently they do not have access to the Bible in their own language, yet they desire it. Narelle has been learning the Kanja language and culture and is planning to help the Kanja people work towards this goal.
