Member care is strategic to the work of Bible translation – ‘walking alongside’ those involved in Bible translation and other related tasks, so they can continue in their ministry – giving all people the opportunity to live and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ through the power of God’s Word in a language that speaks to their hearts.
Kelvin and Roslyn worked for many years in Russia. First developing a local translation team among the Nenets people of north-west Siberia. Later they moved to St Petersburg and were involved in supporting the 15-20 other translation teams working across the Russian Federation and Central Asia. It was at that time that Roslyn started her official role in member care. After returning to Australia she developed this further in her role as Personnel Manager for Wycliffe Australia.
While Kelvin has retired, Roslyn continues as Member Care Co-ordinator for Wycliffe Australia. She co-ordinates and encourages the team of Regional Carers around Australia. She also has a small member care role connecting with some people who are now part of the group they worked with in Russia.
