ARTS & ETHNOMUSICOLOGY

Peter and Raewyn along with their three boys are currently based in Melbourne, Australia after spending 15 years living and working in Papua New Guinea. Since returning to Australia in 2016 Peter and Raewyn have been encouraged to see how God has provided roles for both of them that allow them to continue directly supporting Bible translation for minority languages while using their gifts, training and experience.

As an Ethnoarts Consultant for Wycliffe Australia Peter provides training and support for local and expatriate workers in various contexts as they consider how they can engage local arts and artists in their ministry and community. This includes working directly with artists in Central Australia as well as the Pacific and elsewhere; helping them develop and express a clearer understanding of God’s Word through their cultural art forms.

Raewyn completed Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) training in 2017 and is now teaching English to people in Bible translation organisations from a number of Pacific countries. Improving their English enables these leaders to better access Bible translation tools as well as communicate effectively with their international partner organisations.
