Wendy grew up in New Zealand and David in Victoria. They both joined Wycliffe in 1980, were married in 1981, and have since worked in a variety of roles in the organisation in the USA, PNG, New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Australia. Their work roles have included aviation maintenance, linguistic support, management, translation work (in New Caledonia and Vanuatu), leadership, academic teaching and academic administration. Currently David serves on the leadership team for SIL Pacific Area as the Associate Director for Language Services. Wendy is the Academic Administrator for SIL Australia’s language development and translation training program in Melbourne. They are both using their previous experiences overseas and their qualifications to support colleagues and new staff training for cross-cultural ministry in translation work and language development in Australia and throughout the Pacific.
