W & J joined Wycliffe Australia in March 1964 and served as translation facilitators in a language of South Asia (the New Testament was published in 1982). They have also served in administration, Government relations, training and mentoring roles in various countries of South Asia. J served three years (1991-94) under the United Mission to Nepal supervising an Adult Literacy Programme in the Gorkha Community Health Project, and trained teachers, supervisors, and her successor. W and J have taught on staff at several training sessions of SIL Australia, where W has served as Principal for four terms. In 1980 they established a training programme in India for Bible translation and literacy (Indian Institute for Cross-Cultural Communication), and also served on staff, with W as director, at Singapore SIL in 1990. W was Field Coordinator for the Church of Pakistan Language Project 1982-87, and J was Branch Director of South Asia Group from 1996-2001. They are now working with the translation team on Scripture engagement for a language community in South Asia
