TRAINING

Born to a Malaysian Buddhist family and growing up amongst Muslims, I am grateful for the witness of Christian teachers in high school who also gave me the opportunity to study in Melbourne where I accepted Christ.

I began to understand God’s heart for the nations through reading His Word. When I learnt that millions of people do not have access to the Bible in a language they know well, I was devastated. This began my long journey of training in theology and linguistics before joining Wycliffe Bible Translators Australia in 1998.

After serving in Thailand for a time, I was involved in equipping and mobilising others for Bible translation while bringing up my three children in Australia. Those I taught are now working in 37 different countries making His Word available to marginalised people in their own language.

In 2015, when the children had become independent, I began serving the orang asli in Thailand and Malaysia through Bible translation and Scripture engagement. During the pandemic I began leading the Pray for Zero* movement in Malaysia and now part of the Core Leadership team for Pray for Zero Asia.

Wen Lee is committed to being part of the team helping to complete the global Bible translation task.

* Zero means no language without the Bible.
