Media (Vernacular)

Use your media skills, training and experience to encourage the use of media within language projects, to broaden the way the gospel can be communicated.

The most effective communication is in the language we understand best. Specialists in vernacular media work alongside other translation team members, especially focusing on how various media tools may be used within the cultural context, such as film, audio, radio, photos and the internet. These can be especially important in language communities where the language is rarely written or read.

Those working in vernacular media roles are responsible for designing, editing, and archiving varied content, and ensuring that it can be accessed and shared among speakers of the language. These roles may also involve training language speakers in using these tools.
